A Girl and Her Sewing Machine

Last Thursday our Bee spent the morning at Sharron's lovely home.  While we were in her sewing room working on a project, Sharron got his little gem down from a shelf.  She was given this sewing machine on her fifth birthday by her father.  Sharron remembers sewing doll clothes with her little Stitch Mistress;  the beginnings of this quilt maker started early.

Sharron's Stitch Mistress

Cynthia brought her Scotties and Dots quilt that her sister, Leslee Price, designed.  The pattern is available at Painted Pony and Quilts and you can purchase the pattern here.  Leslee has written many patterns and Cynthia says they are always detailed and easy to follow.  Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a sister to share your love of quilting?

Peg was putting the finishing touches on the binding of this beautiful 30's pinwheel.  The accent color of aqua reproduction fabric just makes this quilt sing.

We have such a talented group of women in our Bee and they inspire me every time I'm with them.

Enjoy all the pieces of your life,

I like vintage machines, especially small ones. This one has a history with the owner. What a treasure!

My mom still has the sewing machine like that she used as a child. Actually my daughter has it now. I have sewing machine envy! LOL

Your right! I am "sew" lucky to have a sister who has encouraged me in my quilting the last couple of years and shares my love for it. Can't wait until her husband retires and she lives within a couple of miles.

Love the little machine and the quilts!

Such pretty quilts. I do wish I had a sister to sew with. You attend the bee and I suppose that would be the next best thing. Such a cute little sewing machine.

This little sewing machine looks like it would actually sew things, unlike some small machines I got for my daughter when she was little.

You know with all of my scottie collections, I have to love the scottie quilt.
