I know that Saturday, March 16th is National Quilting Day, but I celebrated a day early with three of my quilting friends.
Friday morning we met early to carpool to the Trinity Valley Quilt Guild meeting in Fort Worth. The minute you walk in the door, greeters welcome you into a room of lively, friendly quilters. Even though it is only 9:20a.m, everyone is excited to be there to share their projects, quilts, and stories. To make the meeting even more enjoyable the guest speaker was quilt designer, Beth Ferrier, as entertaining as she is talented.
After a quick sandwich and salad at McKinley's, we headed to Lone Star House of Quilts, located in a lovely old house in the residential area of Arlington. This is the place to shop if you love Civil War and reproduction fabrics, as ceiling to floor is covered with quilts of all sizes to tempt and inspire your creative side. After we had all purchased our share of the inventory, it was time to head home.

Looks like you had a very fun fabric kind of day.
What a fun day you must have had! Happy Quilting Day to you!
I couldn't think of a better way to spend the day! What a fun trip that must have been.
I'm not going to be able to celebrate in such a great way - what fun! I'll be looking forward to seeing what you do with some of the things you bought.

Lots of fun you had!
I'm just becoming interested in Civil War Reproduction Fabric, so would have loved that store.
It sounds like you had a great day! The pictures sure look familiar. I haven't been there in a while - since I'm not taking a class there anymore. The classes are fun, but then I feel obligated to make the quilt for that month and it puts me behind on my other projects. Boo Hoo!
Sounds like you had a great time. It is always so much fun to get together with friends.
Hugs
