For the first twenty or thirty minutes in the shop I always walk around speechless, overwhelmed by the enormous array of color, textures, books, and patterns. Displays are hanging on each available spot to catch your eye and stimulate your creative juices.
Looking for a particular fabric, you are sure to find it, each color, red, blue, green, etc-----each has it's own row, three shelves high of fabrics plus another row sitting on the floor.
Novelty fabrics, batiks, neutrals, they each have their own row. Upstairs houses the flannels, Christmas, and a few more novelties. A large classroom also filled with the upcoming seasons fabrics, this time of year there were plenty of fall and Halloween fabrics and samples.
In years past I usually purchased one of their many quilt kits but this time my bounty included two patterns, a bundle of 40 Civil War 10" squares, fabric for an apron, fabric for baby quilt backing or an apron that was on sale three yards for $11.00, and a new thimble.
I have told friends "if you are ever short a yard of fabric for project, chances are the Door Mouse Quilt Shop has it; send them a swatch you may be surprised."
