Favorite Time of the Year

One of my favorite times of the year is the week between Christmas and New Years, the decorations are still up, everyone is still in a festive mood, and most of all, the stress of all the holiday preparation is over.

Christmas 2011-two years ago

This year the Cross family has so much to be thankful for, most importantly my hubby's health.  He started chemo in May for his MDS and completed six rounds, December 1st he was admitted into the hospital with  pneumonia, released four days later, a week later back into the hospital for twelve more days with complications of  pneumonia.  After two surgeries and some recovery time he was released just in time be home for the holidays.

As I get older the more I realize that the best Christmas presents don't come from a store!

Enjoy all the pieces of your life,

I'm so sorry to hear of your husband's health struggles. I well remember years ago when my father made it home from the hospital in time for Christmas. All my best wishes to both of you.

You couldn't have said it better, Betty Lou! I know it's been a tough year, but my heart says it will only get better from here!
